Following in the wet shoes of Amy Freeze, Ginger was joined by a pack of early morning runners--as they run in the rain while Ginger gives the forecast for the Tri-State area (presumably there was a monitor on the back of their news truck.)

Wednesday had her weekend syndicated program Hearts of Heroes and the entire team being recognized by the Telly Awards.

A well deserved honor, considering this also ties to what she mentioned in a recent show on how she got her start talking all things weather--storm chasing.
Add to that with all of the heartfelt stories about storm rescues, fire rescues, and other heroic acts in this finishing up their sixth season--it spells winners in my eyes.

And it's only fitting that this particular post was mentioned while Ginger was in the South again, you guessed it--covering another natural disaster.

After 26 years, GMA will say good bye to the Times Square Studios on Friday.

They spent a few minutes looking back at the first show after the move from 1330 Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan, at the corner of 54th Street which was ABC's headquarters from 1966 until 1999.

Next Monday, they will broadcast from Hudson Square in Manhattan. After seeing a short clip, they will be surrounded by many local restaurants, a fitness center, and an outdoor area adjacent to the Hudson River.

Here is one of the final group pics from Times Square. It will be interesting to see which tenant will take over the space going forward.
And don't forget to check everyone's Instragram accounts for some personal memories on saying goodbye to Times Square.

The new era arrived on Monday morning.

Say hello to GMA in their new home at Hudson Square, located inside the Robert A. Iger Building in midtown Manhattan:

https://youtu.be/277sNJTcXfw?si=yZ8zltC1KtYSA0_r

As many people already know, it is the home to many ABC News programs--including World News Tonight, 20/20, and the overnight show World News Now.
The View, plus other syndicated shows and one of ESPN's popular morning shows Get Up! with Mike Greenberg also call it home. WABC/ABC7 in New York airs their local news from there.

Sadly, the era of meeting fans outside the floor to ceiling windows ended on Sunday.

Here are their new neighbors, where there many cool restaurants--and a few sites where some movies took place :Tasty .
Also at the four minute mark, Ginger takes viewers inside the J Studio--their state-of-the-art exercise and training center:

https://youtu.be/l5XGa6zsHXM?si=imLhAi__GOzrxXKA

And another thing that is special in New York City but having some pizza. Using a take on one of the shows that HBO had in its' last glory years with Sex And The City, I am sure you will probably get hungry after looking at this segment:

https://youtu.be/r4Bsy6oeRPs?si=gB36Sa3K99-tcASk

Finally, here is Ginger and most of the crew in the closest shot that I could find (their couch technically can fit up to 9 people.) She said on her Instagram that it is only the promo set--the real set has not been completed.

As for the weather maps, the only word I could think of is HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE.

It's at least 2 1/2 times wider than the old map.
It will be very interesting to see how they will blend in with everyone inside one complex, and what will also be during the third hour middays.

Finally, the crew did some cement handprints to mark their first day--ala what is seen at the Hollywood Walk of Fame (and they show the same segments that I touched on above.)

And so, the new era begins.

At first glance, it nearly looks like the setup at Good Morning Britain in the UK, but here is the wider view of how Ginger will present the latest radar with the really huge monitors inside their newly constructed studio.

Going forward, it would not surprise me if I don't produce as many caps as I did during the Times Square days. And that's okay, because we all have lives. At least, I still check this site periodically to see what is happening.
It isn't very often that networks move to new studios, so consider this a different kind of maiden voyage with every network news program all under one roof:

Gone is the solid dark gray floor with the blue circular stripes, and the more pleasing spotlight background from the Times Square era.

Instead, the studio lights are hanging from the ceiling within direct eyesight  . (Feel free to look up to avoid seeing sudden brightness.)

Also of note, with the lighter blended and tinted wood floors--the only cool things to see is the really large weather map and when the gang sits on the couch.

In closing out their first week in Hudson Square, let's give a shout out to the one man in Texas who came up with the genius idea of making artwork of everyone during their heavily promoted summer long nationwide coffee tour.

Since I started back in 2017, it was fun while it lasted. I have decided to leave the capping parts to others who cover the third hour, but this will more than likely be my last set of caps for awhile.

Please don't worry too much, because I will still be around to give some periodic updates on other ladies that might be in the news.

As always, thanks so much for the lovely comments. :Victory

Back on the road with a taped segment about renewable energy, and whether it is slowing down climate change (thanks in large part to the absolute junk taking place in Washington):

A much more pleasing floor color compared to the first two weeks, but get used to seeing views from a much wider distance than we were used to when they were in Times Square.

Again, thanks for the support and I will check in from time to time when Ginger files some reports from their 24/7 streaming service ABC News Live.

It was teased for several weeks, but former longtime FOX Sports baseball and football play-by-play man who left to go to ESPN to do Monday Night Football in 2022--Joe Buck appeared at the desk for the first of three shows. :o

He received a GMA mug and an alarm clock from one of the many players he covered during his time with FOX in Michael Strahan.

However, he did a great job in talking about the extreme heat that the eastern half of the country has been experiencing.

Also on Wednesday, Joe learned how to make a breakfast burrito. The first time was not so great, but did way better in his second attempt.

Ginger's reaction towards the end of the show, priceless.

Also of note, this was the exact same dress that she wore exactly one year to the day--July 23, 2024.

Shortly after Wednesday's show, she hopped on a plane and headed to her old stomping grounds in Chicago where she did weekends at NBC5 in the early 2010's until ABC called in 2013.

The purpose of her trip was to see how kayakers up and down the Chicago River are finding creative ways to help make the rivers clean for all natural habitat.
And look at the awful early morning weather reading shortly after 7:10 a.m. Central time on Thursday.
"Like picking up a toddler":

Joe's final day of doing the news is on Friday, so that's one of my very rare general sports commentaries in a newsworthy thread.

You're welcome.

At the very least, there is the annual Summer Concert Series in Central Park and her popular "From A to Zee" environmental series on ABC News Live streamed via YouTube.

Long time since posts, but Ginger had some goodies she showed on her Instagram on Thursday.

Here's part of what she mentioned:
"doing part of the “avatar yoga” actors in Avatar go(ing) through (a process) to get ready for motion capture. 54 markers on joints, spine etc will be captured by hundreds of cameras in what they call “the volume.” The second slide, shows the up close camera that captures every nuance of an actor’s face. Those two data streams, go through the pipeline and help transform me into an avatar. Which you will see on @goodmorningamerica Friday."

Isn't that cool? She is getting directed by none other than the famous James Cameron. If that doesn't get anyone excited about Ginger receiving a different mention on IMDB.com, then I don't know what will.
Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see what kind of publicity the movie will capture.
