Remember when people were dismissing Fox News when CNN ruled the 24 hour news universe?

Similar argument Fox Sports 1 is trying to do in making more people switch away from ESPN. Might take a few years, especially with Regis Philbin coming out of retirement and being on a show with Katie Nolan, new queen of going off on a lot of things on YouTube, but this article from the L.A. Times explains (and shows some cool bts pics of Charissa in the makeup room and on the new set) why they are in this for the long haul:

Another reason why Fox Sports 1 is happening because NBC and CBS have their own sports networks themselves (ABC/Disney owns ESPN). OK Granted Fox Sports did try to complete with ESPN (remember the Best Damn Sports Show Period anyone?) before coming focus on Regional sports for some reason.

I have heard in a DirecTV forum that FS1 will be on channel 219 (between Golf and NBCSN). Currently MAVTV is running on 219 and Speed is on 607. MAVTV (which has a lot of motorsports on) evidently will be taking over 607.

Fox sports 2 is going to be 618. Directv is hiding fox sports 2 with the fox sports regionals in the 600

I hope that info I got on fox sports 2 is wrong. It would be a lot easier if once fuel becomes fs2 directv used one of the free channels in the 220's.

On Comcast here at least, it will be 27. FS1, I mean. Nicely near the top of the lineup.

I have, the NASCAR truck race and Fox Sports Live. Charissa is in the legs chair for some segments. I've also watched some of FS2. I never watched Fuel when it was on 618.

Some of the segments Charissa involves the panel include:

POV, discussing different points of view on the hottest topic of the day.

Buzzer, where the best of the web gets their 2 minutes in the sun...the crew had too much fun over that one Little League umpire yelling:
"Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike!"

Otherwise, they discussed about Miguel Tejada's suspension, what things Gabe Kapler would say if he was Ryan Braun issuing the apology, and some Arizona Cardinal defender thinking he was going to be the next Bo Jackson/Deion Sanders type of impact player.

i found out i will be getting Fox Sports one i will give it a try. since i live in the Bay Area most of the shows will probably be on when i'm working. i'm just hoping they cover the west coast sports scene better

If the Dodgers continue this hot streak they've been on, they will get plenty of highlights.

Btw, referencing Charissa Thompson and the panel with Donovan McNabb, Andy Roddick, Ephraim Salaam, Gary Payton, and sometimes Gabe Kapler--they will be on Monday through Friday unless there is an event going on.
