She is working on a pilot and developing it, but new talk shows don't usually launch in January -
Hers would be started in the fall (fall of 2014 - about a year and a half from now)

NBC sounds like they'd like to have Meredith compete with "Katie" for viewers, but remember --
the show is only in development stage, and still has to be picked up by enough stations in order to go ahead.

None of that will be decided for a while yet.

Fantastic news! But fall '14

I'm kind of surprised it took this long just to get to this stage. Seems like she would be in high demand. Guess took her a while to decide to (try and) come back.

It's official! No exact date set, but she said on Today Show yesterday that she's got a show named after her starting in '14. I, for one, cannot wait! Bring on those lovely legs in sky high stilettos!

She'll spend the next 12 months or so preparing for it with NBCUniversal;

Amen. And Diane Sawyer is in her mid 60s, if I'm not mistaken, and still looks amazing. Meredith looked tan and rested the other day, and I am so looking forward to seeing her liberated from the stage of Millionaire with all of its obstructions. Bring on those silky stems in sky high stilettos!!

I have capped Meredith and Ann for years on the today show,it be awesome is she added Ann Curry to the show as well.

Well, in order for that to happen, Ann would have to be comfortable playing second banana to someone (again),
and the offer would really have to come from NBC Universal (who will be the owners of Meredith's show). And
we all know how well Ann and NBC blend together....about as well as oil and water.
