Go get 'em, Nicole! As a 20-year veteran myself, I've seen similar cases happen all too often with former troops and acquaintances. I have to say that I'm not surprised about this, though, after NBC bought TWC. Thank you for this.

Well, it's a surprise to me considering that NBC at the time was still owned at the time by General Electric which is one of the biggest suppliers to the military on a whole host of things. Now they are owned by Comcast which has also been quite the supporter of the military as well. I guess not everybody got the memo as it were.

No wonder the Weather Channel has gone downhill, its been Bain'ed.

If I'm not mistaken, Nicole herself has recieved a law degree. So I can't see her pressing these charges if she didn't know she had a really good case against them.

When did they get rid of Nicole? I always liked her. Haven't watched the weather channel in awhile I liked the network better before NBC bought them.

Hope she wins the case.

Messy situation. Sounds like TWC changed when new management was brought in. The channel that had once been receptive to Nicole then started turning a cold shoulder to her. She had to meet obligations that specifically went over her duty in the army reserves. Got yelled at for it and was demoted to off Your Weather Today morning show. it sounded like she was unhappy about it. Then she was let go during a period when TWC was following the Hurricane Headhunters and so she was not filmed on the show and rather ignored by the show. She sees discrimination and you get the inference that the lawsuit was filed a while ago. I believe she left December 2010. But she just made it public because things were not going well and she wanted the world to know that service men are mistreated on the job. NBC, Blackstone and Bain did a poor job of handling her situation. Broke USERA laws.

Now before anybody just blames Bain which donates to Romney's current campaign because he once ran the company. Let me say that I read that Blackstone not only donated to Obama in 08 and 2012, but has held fundraisers for him. And NBC owns MSNBC which supports Obama. You know the situation. Both sides have egg on their faces. Although neither guy was running TWC or NBC.

I myself have no idea what role Bain and Blackstone play with NBC/Comcast in running TWC. What I did read of note was Bain and Blackstone bought out the fabric store Micheal's in 2006.
