It has come to my attention that except for Grocery Game, they play the same games over and over again on the Quebec TPIR. Where's Plinko, Five Price Tags, One Away, Any Number, etc.?

I'm guessing the lack of cars outside the showcase means that some of the traditional car games don't show up, although if they can use Dice Game for 4 digit non-car prizes, I'm sure others can be reworked as well. Maybe they aren't too sure if the game(s) will actually work - Pick-a-Pair has a back up system in place this week. There's still no excuse for the lack of Plinko though.

I'll say this though - some of the camera work in this version has all the subtlety of a car bomb. What necklace?

Well, in the first half, Hole in One (or Two) was finally played for a Nissan truck (a Nissan dealer in Montreal being the presenting sponsor of the show)...but wasn't won.

No cars at all in this week's show. But one of my favourite TPIR events takes place. Someone tries the ol' "Bid $1 More" in contestant's row, only to find the guy who got hit with the overbid get the price exactly right.

Season 2 premieres Wednesday; let's hope they add more games including Plinko!

Other things.

-The Shell Game is also now here.
-They've finally added the white line to The Dice Game
-This show added a men vs. women format, with half of the show being female contestants, the other being males, with stereotypical prizes. So there were 7 invited to come on down during each half of the show. Don't know if this will continue, but I really hope it doesn't. The show is good enough without the schtick.
-They've also added male models, but this might be tied into the gimmick for the opener as well.
-Prizes seemed more valuable this time too.
-Oksana is out, replaced by Bayan Peterson. Strangely, her twitter is entirely in English - @bayanpeterson

3 Strikes makes it debut in Quebec - with the prize being a 4 digit trip to Morocco.

BOOOOOOOO!!!!!! And no "NON" graphic if a number is not in there?

Also, "Bean Stalker" (which was one of the main car music cues until a few years ago) for an ATV???!! Well, that's the Quebec TPIR for you, but at least it was back to the regular format after last week's experiment with the "men vs. women" and the male models.

But I'm sure in the weeks to come we'll be seeing Five Price Tags, One Away, Ten Chances, Most Expensive, Any Number, etc., most of them for four-digit prizes (if they want five-digit prizes like A NEW CAR!!!!!!!, there's always the U.S. version).
