Wide World of Women

It seems to me that this was the worst year I can recall on the shopping channels from top to bottom. (banners, dest, hosts clothing, host getting out and doing stuff, dull shows.

I have to say it is the worse that I can recall

QVC seems to have established a strict dress code.the women only wear skirts on special occations or shows.MBR who used to wear skirts all the time,even during the winter,now has become a pants queen.

HSN's women show more skin and are younger.

It was pretty bad. I'm looking forward to spring/summer 2010. Hot hosts like Callie have been in a slump lately and I notice there are ALOT of hosts wearing black clothes. Do they think it makes them look thinner? Lisa R. in Italy was a disappointment this year and even the Rhonda shows have been pretty tame. I'm hoping for more once the weather changes. Weather may have alot to do with it. HSN is definitely hipper and more daring than QVC. On the flipside, ShopNBC has been getting sexier!

and worst of all when the models do wear hose you never see anything but solid black tights and the occasional sheer black hose. No one wears clear or tan hose anymore period. But I would also have to say that Kathy Wolfe finally learned this year to leave her hair long.

Its getting worse and worse by the month.

HSN is using younger models and more and more models are getting hair part way down their back (bra length is what my girlfriend calls it).

I don't watch any shopping channel but QVC so i didn't notice how the others where.But with QVC it's more of a production problem that sucks.The majority of the time when a host,model or guest(s)are looking hot,they'll have them hidden behind a table or have the camera angle back so far you can't make out anything.Since they changed studios they overuse the rig camera,where it's an overhead shot but at a distance.And have the models spread out all over the set

I would say it was a decent year.. both QVC and HSN implemented their HD broadcasting to a wider audience and both networks added a bunch of new talent. You are right about QVC dulling down and conservatizing their hosts. Fewer skirts and cleavage shots but on the flip side HSN gave us more to look at.. Combine that with Shopnbc and other channels.. it was ok. Hopefully theyll use the HD wiser this year and QVC will get a MAN to run things... remember, less is more!

Dont watch any of the shopping channels either but babewise, for all the others, nothing more than average. When you get a good day from one or two, it seems great but thats just because not much to compare it to.

QVC seems to be getting more conservative.

HSN is still doing well in terms of how well the hosts/guests/models dress.

Between the two I voted that 2009 was "average". I wish the Q ladies would
turn up the sexiness a bit, though.
