I really don't think the vid quality is that great with all the flashbulbs going off. I think people should probably deinterlace when they watch it.

You're going to get that macroblocking crap when there's flash bulbs no matter what. The original is always best, IMO.

can someone explain the diff to me between 1080i and 1080p and does it matter if you buy a 1080p or i HDTV?

i = interlaced & p = progressive scan

Get 1080p if you plan on watching bluray or watching stuff on your computer on the TV for best picture. If you have more questions post it in the tech support, and we'll try to help you out.
