I would love nothing more than for this show to go HD :beg
I don't know if it's just the signal I get here, my computer, or if it's the show itself, but the PQ seemed to be lacking compared to other shows. :?

Not HD, but it's broadcast in 16:9 upconverted SD which should be better than other shows. If you are using a s-video and cable box to cap this you should try it with whatever source you're using to get the HD stuff. It's a world of difference.

I believe that's the feed I have. My only source is an antenna for OTA digital channels. These caps were from a recording, then capped in VLC. The first time I capped M&J, I capped on the fly in WinTV, and the raw caps looked like this:

Yeah the sidebars shouldn't be there on the upconvert. It must be the local Fox that doesn't show it in 16:9. I'd send them an e-mail asking them why they don't show the 16:9 so at least they know people are aware of it.

UPDATE: They emailed me back with this response:
Thanks for your email. I was unaware that the Mike and Juliet show was available in 16x9 format. Depending on when it is fed down from the network we might be able to broadcast it in that format. As for other programming if it is produced in 3x4 format we could stretch it to 16x9 when we upconvert but we have decided against doing that.
