I know this may be a bit off-topic, but I am sure we all wonder where exactly does our recycled materials (cardboard, glass jar, plastic milk jugs, bubble wrap for protecting fragile items when shipping, etc.) end up.

It's no secret that many recycled water bottles end up as ink pens, or in one case on NBC's once famous game show Deal or No Deal, the ladies wore recycled Army dresses from parachutes.

Her voice fully recovered after a few days, this after she mentioned that it all stemmed from catching too many allergies. Good thing it wasn't from talking too much, as so often is the case.

Nice surprise at the end of the show--it was all Retro 1980's. Loved seeing her holding up a large boombox, complete with that vintage audio cassette deck right in the middle.

After seeing the vintage weather map and the old clock in the lower left corner of the screen :shades

, it reminded me of one famous B-52's song in the late summer of 1989. The lyrics said, "The Love Shack is a little old place where we can get together." Great times back in the day. :Kool

Towards the end of today's show, Ginger sent out a little PSA that the sixth season of the popular weekend show Hearts of Heroes will start on Saturday.

Besides showing heartfelt stories of police and fire rescuers, there will be occasional stories of random people stepping up in times of need. Of course, you can see episodes on their website and on YouTube.

Check your local listings for exact times, as we enter another holiday weekend.

Stay safe if you are on the roads or venturing outside in this stifling heat.
