Sources have reported that there are signs Meredith's talk show
is not going to be renewed after this spring:

http://pagesix.com/2015/12/26/meredith- ... 1443706329
http://tvline.com/2015/12/27/meredith-v ... -season-3/

Apparently, attempts to rework the show to be more like
"The View" are not paying off in the ratings.

It's been made official now, as expected:

http://www.ew.com/article/2016/01/04/me ... w-canceled

Meredith's show will finish out the current season, still producing
new episodes at least until May.
Then after some time off, she's expected to assist with Olympic
coverage this summer in Rio for NBC.

It had to happen sooner or later.

Meredith's show got no love here in Atlanta, first airing at 2:05 am on WSB and now 8:00 am on WUPA (on a one-day delay). My guess is that her next home may be Yahoo!, where Katie Couric is at now.

All of these women are 60 or over and they're still around in the talk show and "news" business: Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Kathie Lee Gifford, Sharon Osbourne, Diane Sawyer. Even Barbara Walters, 86, comes out of retirement every so often to do a TV special. Don't count Meredith out because of her age!

true but there are dozens if not hundreds more who hit a wall in the business because of their age (fair or not) and can't get hired anymore.
I meant no disrespect, just that it's a young woman's business and she may not get another high-profile chance.

I think as much as anything its because of the time it aired in a lot of markets. It came on at 6am here, that being said it didn't surprise me at all when I heard it was in danger of and then finally officially cancelled.

On the rare occasions I flipped to her show, she usually wearing GMa Hillary suit pants. I don't watch talk shows for news, so I don't care about what they are saying. I want to see legs or something. That said, I'm no Oprah fan, but she reached a long term audience & has die hard fans & her audience cares more about content & what she has to say. Not sure if she started a new show on her own network, so maybe that should be past tense terms.

Somebody mention age. I doubt that is an issue in talk show land. "50 is the mew 30"! Look @ Deborah Norville. She's up there. I recently started checking her out again. She may or may not look sexy completely nude, but she sometimes looks sexy on IE & her infomercial! She seems to have a nice body shows cleavage & sometimes legs. I don't watch it 4 content.

My personal favorites of news are Martha MacCallum then Heather Nauert. I think people here shy away from over 50. Not a large fan base on this board for Martha. But that seems like it's been that for quite some time & not based on age. Martha still looks good in jeans to! Most FNC hotties are at least mid-upper 40's & over. These fine wines are exceptions! These aren't the same GMa 50+ from our day!

Maybe I'm dating myself & don't believe it's b/c I'm getting older. Of course back in HS, the eldest I banged was 46 & thought that would be my limit. But not now days! Is it just me?

I've never had a problem with older women. Gerri Willis and Martha Maccallum are two of my faves and they are 50 plus.

I like Gerri to! I went off track above after I somebody referenced age as a possible factor. They change MV's time slot & that didn't help. Men aren't watching b/c in my limited views, there hasn't been much to see. Maybe other women aren't watching her show either.

I don't know & have enough issues in my own life...

Good Day To All!
