Remember, the crew is distributing the show themselves, so there's probably going to be some rough patches, but hopefully everything will be running smoothly by the full public release by May. You can buy a season pass to view the new episodes or pay to view individual episodes. But even if you're not interested in the revival, creating a free account on the Gizmoplex will still allow you to view every available episode from the classic run for streaming without ads for the rest of the year! If you'd rather not get into the Jonah/Emily debate, you can dust off the notes for your Joel/Mike debate. But remember, Joel will be hosting a few S13 episodes this year too.

so I've loved mst3k and about got a pass, then i saw the cost, i mean obviously in the end its not that much if you consider per month yada yada but i felt i dunno......discouraged? I enjoyed some of the new ones on netflix but i'm not sure i think they aren't big enough for their own streaming service? but then again we'll see how well it goes, i hope as well as they want it to.

I understand your sentiment. Even though I got a bit of a discount and some perks via their Kickstarter, it still was quite a bit of a chunk of change to get the full season pass. I know they tried to make it cheaper with individual episode purchases/rentals and season packages without all the livestream benefits, but many longtime fans can't justify the costs. There's also the fact that there's still mixed reviews about Jonah and Emily's efforts, and some really don't like the voice of Emily's Crow. I do my best to look at the revival with an open mind, but like most fans, you still can't help but compare it to the original run. It does have its moments, I do like Avalance and Atlantic Rim from the past few seasons, but the comparisons won't go away.

I knew they were taking a huge risk going out on their own, but time will tell if this model will survive or even be profitable. You have to give credit to Joel for having the guts to even try this out. And FWIW, his first new episode in 29 years will premiere on June 24. I wonder if they'll get a small spike in sales from those who want someone familiar.

At the very least, a free account still allows you to stream over 150 classic episodes at no cost, and that's not a bad deal.

ya i'll def check out joels episode, I enjoyed atlantic rim and a few other of the movies they did recently i mean its a new show i looked past the voice differences pretty quick.

I used to trade and circulate the tapes back in the late 90s so i've been a longtime partially hardcore fan. Ya joel has great dedication to it love seeing him remain involved.

Can't believe I forgot to mention this sooner, but of course there will be a turkey day marathon this year!

It's going to be a "surgically enhanced" marathon this year, not just because it'll contain the most episodes yet, but also because the episodes from the original run have been upscaled to HD. Plus we also have both a Jonah and an Emily episode from the current season in the mix!

For others who have understandably been hesitant to invest money into the Gizmoplex, they're having a Black Friday sale through Monday the 28th. The season passes and all episode purchases/rentals are half off!

At the end of February, the season 13 pass for the Gizmoplex expired. What does that mean? First off, it means all the content you paid for does not expire and you still have ownership of those episodes in your account. But what it also means that all season 13 episodes are now available to stream for free exclusively on their Pluto TV channel.

While this may sound a little odd, think of it as the Gizmoplex being an actual theater you go to in order to see first-run movies, and Pluto TV is like the later "network television premiere" of said movies. And MST3K's reasoning is that the more eyes that can see the new episodes, the more people there are that could support future seasons. So if you haven't seen the latest episodes with Jonah, Emily and Joel yet, now's your chance!

They're hoping for a minimum of $4.8 million, and they're currently at $1.6 million. The campaign ends in nine days. I'll probably put in enough for the digital episode downloads, but Joel seems to really be asking for a lot this time around. He did reveal that two of the movies they cleared the rights for are Battle Beyond The Stars and Deathsport.

Minor update, Joel announced that one of the planned movies for S14 is Plan 9 From Outer Space. It's finally time! (if it's funded).
