I saw in my local newspaper that ESPN could be in for tough contract negotiations for three of their talent which includes Beadle. It could go 50-50. Could Beadle and her people try to get her own ESPN show? Olbermann is gone (or will be) and her former co-host Cowherd is gone. ESPN has slots needed to be filled.

Which three includes Beadle? How'd you find out?

I can't imagine she'll have much leverage. She left once to go to NBC, but came running back to ESPN after a very short while when NBC couldn't really find a good fit for her.

they gave her her own show.
it failed.
what more of a "fit" did she need?

That's part of what I mean- they tried giving her her own show, they tried making her a sports/entertainment reporter, etc. Both sides disputed why she didn't work out there (she says they didn't promote her show or accept her input, NBC says she didn't fit into how they wanted to do things), but no matter what, her stint at NBC was so short and return to ESPN so quick, I can't see how she'll have much of a negotiating stance. ESPN can easily say, "You need us way more than we need you."

who was the guy who left a great gig at Fox News to join Beadle and got taken off the show rather quickly?

that was Dave Briggs, who she trashed on the way out.
sorry, when you get your own show and it bombs in the ratings, I don't see how that can be anyone's fault but your own.

I agree with niner, why would she have any leverage now?

Here's another question, would anyone miss Beadle if she's gone from Sportsnation? The worry is it would be just Max and Marcellus like it was between after Charissa left and Michelle came back. Plus it doesn't help that Bill Simmons, Keith Olberrmann, and Beadle's one time co-host Colin Cowherd left.

It may have been unprofessional to trash Dave Briggs but I will defend Beadle on that. Dave Briggs really did suck. I watched that show when Briggs was on it and he was boring and seem to not know alot about sports. Plus there no chemistry between the two and Beadle has chemistry with everyone. I honestly didn't get what anyone saw in him tbh.

I blame the NBC Sports Execs for that crap, I mean the no chemistry thing should have been discover BEFORE Dave and Michelle went on the air. I guessing they wanted their top hirings in Dave and Michelle to do a show together but it didn't work out and I know Dave is still with NBC Sports but his other shows haven't panned out as well.

It also didn't help that NBCSN heavily promoted the show with Beadle and Briggs for months before it ever aired. Never promoted the show after it was retooled. Preempted her show for anything and everything, and moved the show to a random time slot on a near daily basis.

Sure, it's got more life with her than without her. But the show is kind of lame due to the new format they've given it since the original Beadle/Cowherd days. Wouldn't mind seeing her on a new show.

Wouldn't that help her? ESPN is looking short on personalities now.

You would think so until you realize ESPN is cutting salary ;)

True! But if you survive the cuts, you've moved up the ladder. We'll see if the cuts continue
