She opted not to renew her contract, and she's leaving in December. But, she's not retiring. She's going to work independently as both journalist and producer.

Her replacement will be Ilia Calederon. Patricia Janiot from CNN en Espanol will succeed Ilia on "Noticiero Univision Edicion Nocturna" on Monday, January 22, 2018.

I saw a commercial on Univision tonight. It was a montage of older and contemporary clips and said "Gracias Maria Elena Salinas".

Is there money in that? Big risk w/a huge initial pay cut.

She also hosts a show on Investigation Discovery (ID) called "The Real Story with Maria Elena Salinas". As for her payment going forward, I guess she'll accept the highest offer from anyone.

P.S. She also stated that Univision didn't push her out.
