Although it's not always the case, whenever someone goes almost straight into a gig with another network with almost no delay (Erin to CNN, Trish to Bloomberg, and now Amy to ABC) it's usually an indication that the person was already negotiating a new deal knowing that their contract was ending soon. Same thing happened last year also when Norah O'Donnell jumped over to CBS. All the networks keep tabs on when competing talent's contracts are expiring, and when they like someone and want to try to hire them away, they make some sweet offers. If NBC's guilty of anything in some of these situations, it's probably that they came up with crappy counter-offers that just couldn't hold onto these ladies. . |
