I have to admit, I kind of struggled with what category to post these to -- it's from a show that no longer exists,
but it was a news-magazine show, so it doesn't really fit so well into the "Classic" section as well as I think it does here.
The show "Hard Copy" aired from 1989-1999, and was co-produced by Paramount as sort of a news-focused companion to "Entertainment Tonight". For 8 of its 9 seasons, it was anchored by Terry Murphy, a former Chicago & LA news anchor.
It outlasted one of its competitors, "A Current Affair", but was cancelled in 1999 and has been outlasted by another -"Inside Edition" by over 11 years now.
For those who remember her, Terry was a knockout blonde with a terrific smile -- all of the things that make for a memorable "newsbabe". WWoW didn't exist yet during "Hard Copy"'s run, but there's no doubt Terry would've been a real hit with cappers if it had. ( However, for almost her entire time on "HC", Terry was firmly behind the desk - waist up only )
These days, Terry is 63 and mostly working behind the scenes in production and consulting...
