Jim Cantore & Jennifer Delgado move to AMHQ on January 26th.

"The weekend edition of the show will air from 5 - 9 a.m. ET and will be hosted by meteorologists Kait Parker and Reynolds Wolf. AMHQ weekends will give viewers everything they need to prepare for their busy weekends and will launch January 31."

"The Weather Channel’s Maria LaRosa will be getting her own show and time slot on the network in an effort to extend our success into the important weekend morning block. Maria will be joined by Paul Goodloe and more details will be forthcoming. And as previously announced, Mike Bettes will be hosting a new evening program beginning in late March."

Now that doesn't sound bad on the surface, have to see how it works. If a guy deserves a permanent slot, its Paul. He really is pretty polished when it comes to OCM duties. Putting him with Maria should be really good. :Thumb

The unanswered question is who gets paired with Vivian Brown 12pm-3pm and who is going to be on when Mike when is evening show starts?

Here is the variety magazine article on that switch, and what it all means. The biggest point is that the show is gaining an audience, slowly, but it's ad revenue is still lacking compared to all other morning shows.

My take: Bringing Delgado in, along with TWC's big boy Cantore, is a way of making the morning show formidable. Also, as much as I adore Maria, there's a big difference between training to be an OCM/Weathercaster and being part of a morning show. She's not bad, but now the crew will be a polished 'morning news crew" type of cast, imo.

You can see NBC's hand in this, me thinks.

Yep let's put one of the most annoying women and men on the morning show..... Ha ha it won't last long terrible crew and even worse idea.....

Is it just me or is this Jen really annoying........

If it's gaining ratings, it might be because they ditched the format of the third hour (which was like the Today show) and also got rid of the sports reporting.

They must have been getting complaints about the news, sports and entertainment segments.
People go to The Weather Channel for weather. They do not want the Weather Channel version of The Today Show.
