I don't visit Facebook often but I do check out Heather's page once in a while. Her default one was linked up to TWC, but I just noticed she opened a new one about a week ago. Lists her just as a "News Personality" and features a couple of new photos. Interesting, if nothing else:

From her 'old' facebook page...

"By the way, for all of my amazing and supportive fans, this will be my final few days at The Weather Channel as TWC makes some programming changes. It has been a fabulous ride for 14 years. I appreciate your loyalty so much!!"

Heather is being really classy and positive about everything, which I would expect, but going by the way she's wording certain things I'm assuming it wasn't a mutal decision. Sounds like she would have stayed on with the station if it was up to her. Too bad. Hopefully she resurfaces on TV in the next few months. I'm done with TWC after Sunday.

She announced this morning that Sunday will be her last day. So sad. NBC does it again, we all knew that would ruin this channel.

This is TRAGIC!!!! But I will wait for her re-emergence somewhere else. Hopefully when she does, someone will continue capping. :( :x NBC suits = idiots!!!

that is too extreme. what is wrong with you. Keep the weather channel to get your weather news incase of emergencies.

Local news stations are better for emergencies anyway. I'm not going to block the station, but simply avoid the channel. I give it a year, tops, before every other veteran on TWC are dumped and replaced by someone younger and cheaper. That's not me being bitter, just going by the recent trends.

Anyway, I'm hoping CNN gives Heather a shot. At least we could all still watch her, and the thoughts of a potential Tesch/Baldwin pairing is :Tounge :Tounge :Tounge

This is really sad. Once Kelly Cass and Jen Carfagno are gone too, I'll have nothing to do with TWC. There are a ton of other ways to get weather. These TWC morons keep on sending me some surveys about their new programming, etc. In all my responses to those surveys, I've made it a point to let them know that I like watching live weather more than those other canned programs. But if they're going to let all these veterans walk, I'm going to tell them in the next survey to just go fxck themselves.

NBC is famous for cocking up good things...it's like they live to screw things up. :TickTock

I will sorely miss "The Heather".

I sympathize with all Heather fans...but can't say I'm done watching TWC. CHANGE is inevitable in all business and tv is just another form of capitalism. Abernathy, Sharon, Mozer and my all time favorite Nicole Mitchell all left, were fired, etc...and they all were replaced with suitable eye candy....Larosa, Carfagno, Egger....its the way of tv.

True, but Heather's departure is a sign of bigger problems behind the scenes than the station is letting on. Their ratings are starting to slip, they are phasing out their live weather broadcasts, and are being widely mocked for the decision to name every storm. The meteorologists that speak up are let go and are being replaced by "TV personalities". It's the same loss of identity that has made MTV virtually irrelevant since the turn of the century, and I don't see any Weather Channel shows catching on like "Jersey Shore" to keep them in the black.

They can replace their veteran OCM, but what if they really decide to go for a younger demographic and hire women right out of college? Goodbye Larosa, Carfagno, Egger, etc.
