That statute is a freaking minefield for employers so TWC and its parents
are probably screwed. They definitely don't want this case to go to trial.

I hope it works out for her. When I heard they let her go because of her being on a hurricane hunter sometimes, I kind of wondered if the hurricane hunter was related to some kind of military duty.

TWC settled out of court in 2006
In 2008, Hillary Andrews won a sexual harassment suit against TWC, after her co-anchor, Bob Stokes, said things on the air to her like "Would you like to lick my swizzle stick?"
Andrews got demoted and eventually let go for complaining

Sad part of all this is that, TWC is doing a show about Hurricane Hunters which she is. If Cantore was a Hurricane Hunter for the Air Force, not only he still be on TWC. He would host the damn show. Also I don't know if they mistreat all women especially if the rumors were true about Stephanie Abrams outburst after Maria went to the Today show which led Abrams into NYC. 9 out of 10 times male or female, that's a firing and possibly blacklisting. They did fired Olbermann. If this was true about her being remove because of her military duties, I hope she gets millions.

Though it's rare it does happen to the guys at TWC.
Jeff Morrow went from having a regular weekday shift with Vivian Brown to being a fill-in OCM and storm reporter.
Now he's doing the 4am-5:30am M-F Shift since Scott Williams left.

They did similar schedule changes to Samantha Mohr going from weekdays to weekends then only doing Weather.com forecasts.

Doing an OCM count including fill-in people there are 17 guys and 10 women.

She was yell at for missing a hair appointment, Are you f--king kidding me? Doesn't TWC have hair and makeup crew? Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if someone or more here or at other boards talking about female newscasters does something about TWC because she was (and still is more than likely) popular of everyone in TWC with possibly Jen and Heather rivaling her.

I am retired Navy 22 years in.I got screwed by my BOOOB I mean Boss more than once when I had to do my 1 week reserve duty.I read that this is now in airbitration,If I was her I would not take it to it.Nothing good ever comes of it.Nothing comes out in public at all.And its like this when you do go to airbitration you are signing a Keep Your Damn Mouth Shut Papper don't ever speak about any of it in public.If it was me ohhhhhhhhhhh yesssssssssss I would drag there rears into court and make this crud that there doiung as Public as possible.The worse thing that would happen is you get your rear sued so you sue them back for twice as much as there suing you.And then let the case drag out as long as possible in court it just makes companys like NBC look a hell of alot worce than they already are.Mabey it drop there bit of Big Brother status down a knotch or two.

I have nothing against Nicole and am glad she's doing this, but she wasn't the most popular woman on the station AT ALL. Steph is their golden girl (which I don't like, but it's true), Jen, Crystal, Maria, and Heather all have bigger followings then her. They briefly treated Nicole like a big deal when her and Robinson took over Your Weather Today, but they were both dumped from the show less than six months later, when Abrams/Bettes took over. Her firing didn't create much of an uproar either. If anything, this lawsuit will probably bring her more attention than she ever got with the station.

This thread is a good candidate to get closed rather than get necro'd every ten days. She has a facebook. The case will get handled by arbitration. They would have settled for more money if she had any evidence of losing her job because of the reserve. Comcast or whatever owns these broadcasters aren't stupid.

Nothing really new there. Her lawsuit and the accusations go back a while.

It's sad that anyone will serve their country (either active or reserves) would lose their job because of it.

Also against federal law.

I hope she gets every penny that they have.
