MXP will be doing their shows from a new set starting on January 13th. Let's hope the new digs really spotlight Robin's assets!

Well -- maybe it's about time!
It's largely the same set in use for 8 years now.
Came up a while back in a Christi Paul thread, and I was inspired to do some throwback comparisons.

One thing that jumps out is how little the Headline News/HLN set has really changed. They introduced the "red couch" based
set in December 2006, as you see here in some of HSF's caps from the first day:

And here it is from this week:
Outside of some rearranging and some HD adjustments, it's the same set as 8 years ago...right down to the couch pillows
From the newsdesk angle - Linda Stouffer in February 2007 and JenWes from last week:

Ordinarily, news sets seem to get revamped every couple of years, and sister network CNN certainly looks different than
before... I wonder if this was meant to last this long, or is it just that HLN is the redheaded stepchild?
But now that a new set's coming, it does possibly confirm something else too:
We already know that Robin's been taken out of the equation for a move to New Day on CNN,
and with an investment to finally revamp the Morning Express set, I'd think that pretty much
solidifies that Robin's won her longtime tug-o-war with Zucker over pulling up roots to go to NYC.
I doubt any of this would be happening otherwise.
And beyond that, as a residual effect, she's probably also saved a number of jobs in Atlanta that would
probably be lost as resources get moved away from CNN Center. It's probably bought those folks at least
a couple more years there. Wonder if this also means that CNN is backpedaling a bit on writing off HLN?
