Hey Leg Love. I've got my system, but everything is not ok. Couldn't get a signal on my win tv card, so I rushed out and got the win tv nova satellite card. Not only didn't it manage to find any signals, it wanted me to tell it what satellite to go looking for, it gave me a list of about 50. It didn't even look like the tv capture I am used too, everything was done through power cinema 5 . What card do you use, and do you have to use a two way splitter, to intersect the signal as it comes from the dish, or does it have to go through the sky box, and out on one of the RF outs.

Look for the following satellites from the list stoly.

Astra 2A/2B/2D 28.2
Eurobird1 - 28.5

These two satellites are where all the UK channels are. Check out this link for more info.

I use the SKYSTAR 2 PCI satellite card from www.technisat but it probably works much the same way as your card stoly. You can't split the signal from satellite dishes like you can with aerial cables. If you need more than one signal from the dish you'll have to fit a twin or a quad LNB. If you are using a SKY Minidish make sure you buy a SKY Quad LNB. This will give you up to four feeds off the dish.

Affraid not, re-installed the equipment, entered the specified satellites, and it still didn't find jack. back to square one and pc world. Thanks for your time and effort

Strange how it didn't work Stoly. Hope your still going to get a reciever and start recording.

I've managed to get a picture on my win tv, but it's very poor quality, the tv I have sitting next to it gets a good quality picture, even swapping the leads over does't help. On a brighter note my dvd player recorder gets a great picture and the quality of the dvd's are great, but what a pain in the arse puting them through a dvd converter, and then running them through studio to separate the girls. not to mention the amount of dvd's i'm battering through. It's amazing what people will put themselves through for a bit of softcore, especially when I have hardcore in abundance.

Best to use a PC satellite card stoly. Try some of the satellite TV websites and get hold of the SKYSTAR2 card. It's one of the best cards around. I'm going to upgrade to the HD version. Unlike DVD recorders they record files in MPEG-2 format so you dont have to mess around DVD converters.

At last, I'm using my original pc card for this one , as it looks like an analogue signal is coming for the Sky, amstrad box. So I went to the win tv site and got additional software, its now working perfectly, I'm a happy wanker once again.
