Post subject:  THE BIG 'NewsBabe' QUESTION - by Boones
So here it is. An age old mystery that I doubt we'll ever have the true answers too, but I wish we did, maybe.

Question: Do you think they reveal certain things on purpose or that it's part of what their employer expects of them?

- bra peeks
- abundant cleavage
- leg crossing
- and various 'oops' moments

Your thoughts?

You are right, will likely never know the true answer but don't think it applies to all of them in any way. There likely is a few who are aware of their sexiness and play it up but think its just a matter of the nature of the clothing and seating. for the vast majority of them. :?

On purpose? No.
Does employer expect it? Definitely no.

Just my opinion

- bra peeks- No
- abundant cleavage- With some of the ladies (examples: Kimberly Guilfoyle, Tracey Brynes, Gretchen Carlson, Jonna Spilbor, those that appear on Red Eye) Yes.
- leg crossing- Yes and no
- and various 'oops' moments- 'oops' on Red Eye...yes otherwise no

Here is a great example of abundant cleavage with an 'oops" moment from Red Eye

Just as for non-newsbabes who do not appear on TV, some women play up their sexiness more than others. I cannot imagine for a second that the women themselves, the camera crews, and company execs are not aware of this given how much they pore over survey data and have to be attuned to ratings and such. As others have said, some networks allow for a sexier presentation of their talent than others do, and I want to believe that the decision for this is left up to the comfort level of the women themselves. FOX and MSNBC are very different animals for more than just their political leanings, and thank goodness for the diversity on all counts.

This is a great question, Boones, and I appreciate reading the thoughtful responses posted thus far. One of the many reasons I am grateful for this forum.

Wearing dress that always show legs or outfits that show legs : Yes (I think this one is manditory).

Leg Crossing - Some yes and some no. Some cross on camera, some cross off camera and some don't cross at all.

More flirtatious with the camera in the style of former host like Donna Fiducia : Yes, for one of them anyway Kimberly Guilfoyle. She knows exactly what she's doing I believe.

Cleavage : I have no idea...i'm not ever really looking at that area.

Ooops moments : Again I have no idea, except for you guys drawing attention to it i'm never looking for it.

I'd much rather see some heel popping, dangling, leg kicking (Kim Guilfoyle style) etc. than a oops any day. Also any stockinged feet footage we may ever stumble across.
