What happened to society?
We've gone from Jonas Salk working on a polio vaccine to Paula Deen putting hamburger meat on a doughnut.

Not exactly the worst thing she's done, though.

DaveD, you pose a good question, and the answer sounds like this lyric from the first Kinks song I ever saw on TV...a song called 'Predictable'

"Once we/had so many options
Once we/had dignity and grace,
Now we/have got nothing but our
own time to waste..."

Paula Deen, for all of her sins real and imagined, isn't necessarily the WORST thing they could put on TV.

Nicki Minaj as an American Idol judge (check out the lyrics for "Stupid Hoe". Nuff said).

"Gray's Anatomy" on its TWELFTH season. Chalk it up to the death of the soap opera industry, but with idiots like these as doctors, it's no wonder there are so many medical malpractice suits floating around these days.

The Learning Channel putting on a reality show for kiddie beauty pageants. How very: TV for pedophiles.

Most of ABC Family's lineup. ABC Family: helping teenage girls across America become hyper-emo, lying skanks. You're welcome.

VH1's Sunday Night Minstrel Show: Love and Basketball, Love and Hip Hop, and that show about the Tattoo parlor. Amos and Andy look like role models for common sense compared to the clownshow that these shows put on every Sunday.

adult swim's Loiter Squad: Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, and variety show TV stars are spinning in their graves.

Most of the Sunday news shows. Seriously, have these people EVER done anything in their lives/ Have they ever worked a real job or owned a real business that made money? Can they really relate to Joe Average?

Of course there's a lot of other TV programming that treats its audience like 15-year-old girls, but then, my TV burned out five months ago...so...
