Okay, it turns out that the contents of Volume XXXVIII (volume 38!) were announced today...

602 - INVASION U.S.A. (with short: A DATE WITH YOUR FAMILY)
605 - COLOSSUS AND THE HEADHUNTERS
618 - HIGH SCHOOL BIG SHOT
(with short: OUT OF THIS WORLD)
1007 - TRACK OF THE MOON BEAST

And apparently if you pre-order through Shout! Factory's website, you'll also receive a bonus DVD featuring (almost?) all of the host segments from the KTMA episodes (or "season 0" as some call it). Interesting...

A quick note, you can now add MST3K to your Netflix queue or list or whatever it is they call it. I guess it's just about time for me to finally subscribe, I suppose.

Image

Also, that pre-order bonus DVD for Volume XXXVIII has been changed since the KTMA material wasn't in a acceptably presentable state, and the bonus disc will instead be a collection of the show's musical performances. Just as well, since I usually order them cheaper from Amazon anyway.

A small update, the full season 11 production has now been sent to Netflix where it will be reviewed for quality control, which will take about a month. (I don't get it either.) But after that, the show's release date should hopefully come not long after that.

Also, today is Joel's birthday. Happy Birthday, Joel! :band

Image

Also also, here's Joel and Jonah Ray autographing posters for Kickstarter backers. My pledge level wasn't enough for one, unfortunately. Nor was it enough to see one of the early screenings of episode 1101 that already took place in New York City and Chicago, of which a few of my online friends have already been to, and who I'm quite jealous of. :x

At the end of the LA premiere tonight, it was announced that season 11 will premiere on Netflix on April 14, 2017. Prepare accordingly.

We have season 11 sign! :band <-- playing Yipes Stripes

A few days ago Felecia Day tweeted a new photo of her and Patton Oswalt as Kinga Forrester and TV's Son Of TV's Frank.

Image

Being that Dr. Clayton Forrester and TV's Frank always seemed to have a Burns/Smithers thing going on, the fact that they both had offspring is... well, not that there's anything wrong with that. Maybe episode 1101 will explain everything? (Less than a month to go!)

My Kickstarter reward level allowed me to access a preview stream of episode 1101 for today only. After viewing the episode, I can say that it's not bad. I might be comparing it too unfairly to the original run, and it did take me a little while before I got into it, but it was entertaining. If you're a longtime MSTie like me, you can "just relax" and enjoy the rest of the show's run on Netflix in five days!

Another note, although Shout! Factory released the Volume XXXVIII DVD set on March 28th, they did not release any pending information for an upcoming volume. There's probably about a dozen episodes that have yet to be released on DVD, and maybe half of those (due to tight licensing rights) will never see such release. Better hang on to your fan copies of the two Godzilla episodes.
On a related note, if you missed the initial volumes from Rhino all those years ago and you don't want to mortgage the house to buy them, Shout has also rereleased volumes 1-5. They don't have the same bonuses as the Rhino versions did, but now you don't have to pay much to legally view Pod People, Time Chasers or Space Mutiny again.

IT BEGINS TOMORROW!
But if you're a Kickstarter with enough privilege, like me, you already have early access to season 11. I will not spoil anything, but I will say that Joel did a good job with the revival. The pace is a little quicker at times, but you'll get used to it after a few episodes. Be prepared for some surprises, too.

Go ahead and add it to your list right now. The more positive feedback Netflix gets, the better the probability of a season 12. JOIN US!

Forgot to mention this sooner, but Jonah and the bots will be temporarily shuttled down to Earth for the "Watch Out For Snakes!" live tour!
Most venues will present two separate shows with separate admissions. Every stop will have Jonah and company revisit Eegah (hence the tour title), plus selected theaters will have a second show featuring a "Secret Surprise Film!" on deck.

More details: http://www.mst3k.com/tour

As a side note, I have now watched all of season 11, and although it took me a while to get into the groove of the new show, as well as half the season to get used to telling Jonah and Servo apart in the theater, and I can say that it was well worth my investment. I still have some quibbles, but the pros greatly outweigh the cons. I mean, some of these movies are so WTF that they deserve the MST3K treatments. Bravo, Joel and company!

Good news, Shout! Factory has announced they will be releasing Volume XXXIX (39!) on November 21st. Bad news, this will likely be the last volume. The contents...

623 - THE AMAZING TRANSPARENT MAN
601 - GIRLS TOWN
1013 - DIABOLIK
"SATELLITE DISHES"

We're finally getting the final episode (well, it was until this past April) at long last, but what is "Satellite Dishes," anyway? It's a collection of the host segments from the following unreleased episodes...

201 - ROCKETSHIP X-M
212 - GODZILLA VS. MEGALON
213 - GODZILLA VS. THE SEA MONSTER
309 - THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN
311 - IT CONQUERED THE WORLD
416 - FIRE MAIDENS FROM OUTER SPACE
418 - ATTACK OF THE THE EYE CREATURES
807 - TERROR FROM THE YEAR 5000
809 - I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF
905 - THE DEADLY BEES
906 - THE SPACE CHILDREN
913 - QUEST OF THE DELTA KNIGHTS

While Shout has done an amazing job of getting the rights to some movies that the MSTie community thought would never see the light of day, some episodes are just too complicated to get a hold of. Susan Hart (widow of AIP president James H. Nicholson) inherited the rights to The Amazing Colossal Man, It Conquered The World, Attack Of the The Eye Creatures and I Was A Teenage Werewolf, and will not license so much as a clip to anybody (MSTies refer to these episodes as the "Susan Hart Four"). You can forget about either Godzilla movie getting legal release as well, unless you were lucky enough to get Rhino's Volume 10 before the recall.

Barring any miracles, there will not be a Volume XL, so Shout figured that the host segments from the remaining dozen episodes is better than nothing at all. With all the legal wrangling it takes to get these rights, I'm still impressed that most of the series was even legally released at all. My hat's off to you, Shout. And thank you Rhino for getting it all started.

Firstly, :Welcome to the board Aaronrit!

Secondly, you might be a slightly bigger MSTie than I am, mainly because your copy of the ACEG is signed and mine isn't. I'm jealous! I also have most every legal DVD release (except the original Volume 10), and the rest of the unreleased episodes I acquired by *ahem* alternate means. Bought all the Cinematic Titanic releases as they came out and I have a fair number of Rifftrax shorts as well. Always good to see a fellow MSTie on our board. :D

A few small things... the Satellite Dishes DVD in Volume XXXIX does not include the host segments from Godzilla Vs. Megalon, probably because two of the segments (Rex Dart, Eskimo Spy and the Jet Jaguar song) use a fair amount of footage from the film, and therefore likely falls out of the "fair use" threshold that the other episode segments can get away with. Looks like I have another reason to dig into my savings to buy an original Volume 10 off eBay.

Also, nobody seems to have bootlegged the host segments for this year's turkey day stream so I can share them here, with the exception of this one segment uploaded by the show itself. Jonah talks about the Los Angeles premiere being held in a theater that he used to work at...

Oh, and the Gizmonic apron and oven mitts seen in the season renewal video are now on sale. :P

I guess it's been too long since I've last updated this thread. For one, all of last year's turkey day bumpers were added to Shout's YouTube site, but I'm too lazy to link them, and it's almost turkey day again (more on that later).

It turns out that Shout still has reason to churn out some DVD collections:

The Singles Collection
https://www.shoutfactory.com/product/ms ... ct_id=6707
Pooling together all of the old Rhino single disc issues that haven't appeared on other Shout volumes.

Lost And Found Collection
https://www.shoutfactory.com/product/mt ... ct_id=6851
Six episodes from two previous Shout volumes that had to go out of print due to losing the rights to one movie in each.

Starting soon will be another live tour celebrating the show's 30th anniversary. Not only will Jonah and the bots riff two new movies, but Joel will be joining the trio as well!

(Remember, it still means "It stinks!")
https://www.mst3k.com/tour

The show now exists in comic book form! Kinga invents a new technology that can zap the crew into old (public domain) comic books, and they riff from within. Issue #1 was recently issued.
https://www.darkhorse.com/Comics/31-177 ... ter-3000-1

But the most important piece of news, as inferred above...
SEASON 12 PREMIERES THIS THANKSGIVING!
https://news.avclub.com/exclusive-myste ... 1829297286
Perhaps the only bad thing is that S12 will only be six episodes long, but Joel said this was intentional so that binging would be easier. It's basically 18 half hour episodes once you think about it. The specific movies have not been named, although some guesses could be made from the photos in the AV Club article. Joel also said that one episode is a popular fan request and no more than five years old. Hmm...

Some may be wondering after my last post on whether or not there would be another turkey day marathon being that season 12 will be premiering on Thanksgiving. It turns out that the marathon will actually start the week before Thanksgiving, so you'll actually have two weeks of cheesy movies to stream and savor this November. Relevant links will be posted once I find out what they are.
