Post subject:  Tracking Internet Bandwith

A buddy of mine just found this for me since I have found out about my ISP is limiting bandwith. Even though its 250gb thats total upload and download. So Im doing a test with a little something called Analog X Netstat Live. It monitors your current month total usage, previous month total usage, and total since last reboot. It also monitors your current upload and download speeds you are getting. It breaks it down between uploads and downloads.

Anyways just got it so will be doing some tests with it. Here is the link if anyone is interrested. I will report back throughout the month to provide any new findings with this.

okay update time. Here are the results from the 13th of the month through now.

Couple things to note:

I wont be able to confirm this first one until the end of the month, but when I installed it, the program had already figured out how much I had used for the month "so far" because it was already showing a couple gig uploaded and downloaded.

Since this is the first month I have done this, the last month and this month totals are going to be the exact same since I have no last month record. I believe this program, when it rolls over into the next month, will reflect the final total of Oct and then we should have a fresh start with Nov.

All you have to do is let the program run no problems. Just have to do a little tweeking after you first install it so the program will open when your computer starts up and stays on. Also another tweek you can hit x in the corner of the program and it wont close the program, just minimizes it in the taskbar. For accurate numbers this program must run all the time. It takes up little to no resources for this thing to work.

We will do another update at the beginning of Nov to see how we do with a rollover into another month :Kool
