PowerDVD makes it pretty easy to make caps. Just click the camera icon to take a snapshot:

After a year of owning a DVD recorder I finally made a first DVD from VCR footage of newsgirls, etc. I have on my PC DVD drives and Cyberlink PowerDVD. I went to Cyberlink PowerDVD's 's help tool but it's not worth squat on the topic of videocapping. Do I need more software or is this program enough? |

PowerDVD 7 and up can cap. If you don't have it, you can use VLC Player to make caps. http://www.videolan.org/ You can even set whatever hotkey you want under the settings. |

The version I have is PowerDVD 6.0. But like donkeed mentioned, VLC will work fine. Media Player Classic is also another good option, and has a snapshot hotkey as well. |
