When i use Divx converter it says it can't encode because it's missing mpeg 1 audio codec

Can i get only one or do they only make codec packs?

I had the same issue with converter not recognizing LPCM. They have info on divx support page.

I use lame mp3 for audio, and it works fine. Not sure about Vista though.

I think it's the same thing. Someone with Vista should probably give some input here because one might work and the other won't.

You could just try them, and if doesn't work then uninstall. Just make sure to set restore points.

Could this codec have come when i installed the BS Player or the Elecard Mpeg 2 player?

I'm guessing it's a Vista issue. I doubt you're missing the codec. You could check on device manager, and also try using Virtual Dub and see if it has mp3 listed.
