Ok, I'm a bit frazzled on how to use Dscaler to cap stills.
Now granted, I may be trying to get it to do something that it can't, but I'd rather have Dscaler spit out every frame as a JPG and then I go through and pick the ones I want to keep, as opposed to watching something twice in a row just to get a still.. :(
(once for capture and second time for still capture)

Now I know I can do this in VirtualDub, as that's what I'm doing right now for a bunch of new stills..
but I like Dscaler a bit better in the way it handles the video file for all the filter humdingery.

Any guidance?

If you want to take stills from a live feed you just select your tuner card as your source. There are a few settings you can adjust like video adjustment, interlace method, aspect ratio, and most important the "stills settings" under "advanced settings." To take stills hit "L"

I understood how to do single captures, though I can't get them to save...
but what I'm talking about is using it to spit out a JPG of every frame in the saved video file that I captured in Round 1...

(Dscaler doesn't work with my external DV capture tool, so I have to go more than one step)

Right now, VirtualDub is spitting out a JPG for every frame, and while I can do that just fine in VD, I rather liked the image Dscaler put out and want to duplicate the procedure in DS rather than VD.

The only way I would think is to do it manually. On the source menu choose open file then make caps. They stills should save to whatever file you choose under the stills settings.
