Last Monday I was letting my Windows 10 desk top do its Microsoft updates, came to restart after half an hour, got a message on the screen "Lets Start" and nothing happened apart from the monitor going on and off with no messages and no control over the mouse. After five minutes of having the monitor going on and off, I found that you had no control of over mouse and could not switch the computer off using the start button bottom left.
However after switching monitor and hard drive (tower) using the off button on the monitor and hard drive (Tower) and mains. After three attempts of switching off from the above, the monitor came up with a system locked and was unable to still switch off the monitor using the start button bottom left of the monitor.
Anyhow I took the computer back to the shop where I bought it from seeing that my computer is under guarantee and warranty. Even the block head bloke I spoke to didn't know what the error was, however I had a good idea that there was a software issue so the computer went into safe mode lock.
To be honest over the last few months I have not had any trouble with the computer, and the updates do take a long time however I let it finish and automatically switch off, then turn off from the mains.
On Wednesday received a phone call from the shop apologising that they could not fix the problem in store, they advised that the hard drive tower will need to be sent away to their specialist repairers. Looks like I bought an expensive lemon of a desk top computer, however I have found out that some people have experienced problems with Windows 10 when allowing Microsoft updates.
The desk top pc is the latest HP Pavilion
Any ideas ?
