SVCD quality is almost as good as DVD quality, but not quite. Also dvds have much more room for recording, and if you compare cost per byte, dvd+r's are a much better value than cd-r's. DVD's are the clear choice and dvd+r's at that.

when you record a VCR tape to a CD or DVD, what you have on the VCR tape, will look the same on a DVD. I never recorded a VCR tape to a CD, my guess would be that it would be the same as putting it onto a DVD, but not sure 100%.

As donkeed said, a DVD holds alot more then a CD (about 7 times as much)

In other words, you will not be able to take a old VCR tape and make it into DVD quality.

Thanks to both.

Is there any advantage in using dazzle (video capture card), instead of a TV tuner card (in passing from vhs to PC)?

Maybe better quality of video in terms of resolution or image quality?
