How can I take caps from my computer at home and transport them to another computer to post? Anybody got ideas? Should I try to make a zip file of them. How do I go about doing that and how do I unzip them at another computer? Should I use a CD-RW disk instead? Will that work?

Zip is fine but takes too long, especially if you plan to transfer a lot of files. Besides, it won't do a lot of good anyways, because jpg files are likely to be compressed already anyhow (other file formats don't make any sense for posting), thus making any further compression obsolete.

Best would be a CD-Rom. The burner might be choking a bit if you want to fill up a medium to the max (700 MB), but that's okay, if you devide the mass of pics with some sense for storage (like folder and subfolders). Burn your medium as raw data in an iso mode (i presume you got some experience with that already). The CD should last for the next eight to ten years, it you handle it with care.

A USB Stick (as pictured above) is great too, depending on your hard- and software configurations on both computers. It's best for transport and transfer, but no good for storage purposes. The CD comes in much better for both.

There's software like PC relocater that can transfer files and programs through either a USB or serial port. PC relocater comes with a USB wire as well.

If you download PC relocater by not so legal means do you still get the USB wire? :jetserl
