| Post subject: | BS Player Question |
I've been using bsPlayer for quite awhile. I have the most recent version, and there's been no probem with it.... EXCEPT: When I try to play jstanio's Holly Hallstrom clip, I get a warning:
Any idea what this means, or how I can correct it? No other players that I have can play the clip, either - so maybe it's a codec thing. I just don't know. Any help would be appreciated. |

Thanks, guys, for responding. I tried it using Media Player, but no luck there, either. In fact, it gave a new message: "Error in locating necessary codec." As it turns out, I needed a MPEG-2 decoder. My Windows98SE would only support Media Player 9, when I needed an OS of XP or newer to run Media Player 10. To make a long story even longer, I downloaded an Elecard DVD Player, which had the necessary internal organs to make things work properly. Ironically, I can't play jstanio's tape on that, BUT, now the BSPlayer and Media Player play the tape perfectly. Go figure. Anyway, thanks for giving me a direction to look. |

That probably means that the Elecard player came with MPEG-2 codecs that BSPlayer and Windows Media could understand. Thus, how you were able to play it with them. |
