I've been getting this message for a few days now. One minute the internet is working fine and suddenly the lights on my router go crazy and I get that error. The lights on my modem stay fine though.

I've read some faqs online and I've tried a new ethernet cable and I still get the problem. I take the router out of the equation and connect everything straight to the modem and I still get the error message (lights on the modem act normal though).

I don't know if maybe it's my pc (7 years old), the cable company, or what.

Any help?

About 5 years ago when I had Verizon and a netgear wireless router before switching to Comcast I used to get that error message. I can't remember exactly how I fixed it but I think it had something to do with the "bridge mode" setting and I had to change that.

One of the tech gurus on here should be able to help you out. :Kool

I would presume it's something with the modem. If you have a another one, try testing that one (or borrow one from a friend). You could also check to see if there were any firmware upgrades for the modem & router. Check the instructions or customer support on how to upgrade firmware.

I called twc and they reset the modem and everything seems ok, except I don't have my router hooked up anymore. Not like I need it with the psn down.
