How does one go about making larger snapshots on the VLC Media Player? I mean the ones that I can do are only about 45-55 kbs. So I would like to make them bigger. This VLC media player is pretty cool. I like how you can add text to the video or make it "psychadelic". It's groovy! ;)

I use it to watch videos but I didn't know you could add text to the video. I dont think you can make the screenshots bigger except using a photo resizer like I do to change the size of the screenshot. I prefer using virtual dub to make screenshots, so I don't have to keep pausing it.

I do agree on the stopping of it. I have it going at half-speed when I do caps. A photo resizer. Can you recommend one?

Change the saved file format to .png. You will get huge image files. You can then convert to .jpg at whatever compression with software. Irfanview is freeware that you can save image files as .jpg and choose the compression.

And why would you want to change resolution from the original?

I use faststone image viewer or you could use faststone photo resizer. I usually convert them to jpg format.

O, right. PNG. When I've seen png files they are big. I didn't think it would make it bigger but I'll try it out. I had already had the photos down as jpgs. Thanks, I'll try out the Irfanview. Yes, you make a good point. When you look at the images on Imagebam they are the same size. Well, I like those big HD or HQ saved images. 400 kbs or bigger. I guess I can't make it like that with VLC. Quality and size.

If you want the larger caps, you'll need to get video from an HD source. There's already a couple of topics about recording HD here you may want to check out. :Kool
