VLC does play a lot of stuff but I found on a lot of FLV files, either I get errors or just the first few seconds, or sometimes the file seems to "play" but all you get is the control panel counting off elapsed time.... no sound or picture. By the way, what's the best software to play SWF files? |

You can use VLC or WMP for swf files. You might try this program to help with errors, will tell you if you're missing any codecs. http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/quick_start.html |

By the way, what's the best software to play SWF files? Yeah my files don't play on VLC...I downloaded them straight from a site, but they play on wimpy FLV player. I'll try on media player classic first before dealing with VLC. I guess I should make a icon for the player on the desktop as it did not do it when I had installed it in the past and therefore I have to search for it. Took me a few days to download the whole one hour show as it was broken down at the site in question into 5 to 10 minute clips. Basically only want a few segments out of the show capped and likewise from this past Monday and today's show which were decent. |
