| Post subject: | HSN Program Title Problem !! |
When I tried to schedule my DVR to record HSN programs tonight, I found all HSN program titles are replaced by the title "Home Shopping Network", and the "program" starts in the morning and ends in the next day morning. Actually all the upcoming programs are replaced by the new "HSN" title. This almost make it impossible for me to record HSN programs in the future. This makes me crazy as I schedule my DVR for HSN program everyday (fashion, jewelry fitness prorgams etc). My questions are: 1. Has anyone encountered same problem? 2. Will this become permanent for every DVR user in the future? 3. I am using Timewarner cable, do I need to switch to Tivo or directTv so that I can continue record the HSN programs (assuming the problem only affects Timewarner DVR). |

This happens with me every once in awhile with Comcast. There will be like a one 12 hour block that says Home Shopping Network. I just took it as Comcast has not received the latest programming schedule. It usually works itself out about 12 to 2 hours before that. I dont know about your DVR, but with Comcast you can set up manual recordings and have it set to record however long you like. Since I have a tuner set up on my computer, I just open up the tuner then go to HSN.com and check out the schedule. If you are recording to a dvr then burning to a dvd burner, just go online and write down the times you wish to record then go to you DVR and set it manually. Check under your DVR settings, there may be a manual recording option.
Also in the future, if you could either post your question in the Tech Support thread http://wideworldofwomen.net/WWW/viewforum.php?f=18 or place a (D) in the topic it would be appreciated

I moved this to the Tech Forum, since it's a Technical problem. Agree with what ResplendentRegina said to do,check HSN's schedule on-line and do a manual DVR recording.Every DVR i have used allow you to do that. |

DirecTV still lists the shows. It might be that the DVR isn't updating. |

I have Time Warner and i also got"HSN Programming"from 12am-6am. I don't have DVR from Time Warner but is there a way to manually program to record just by time and channel? What i mean by this is if your guide said HSN prgramming from 3pm-10pm and what you want to program is let say at 7pm.That would force you to record for 7hours.I use TIVO and if the guide is wrong and what i want to record is on at 7pm-8pm and the guide has 7pm-10pm in a three hour block, i just put the channel and start to finish time manually. Thus saving myself from having to record for the entire three hours. And your concern regards to TW guide,i seem to have more problem with inaccurate programming ie it will say"Kitchen Idea"at 6pm and they will have jewelry at the hour. But something like that can be cured by going to HSN.COM like others have mentioned. |

I have a DirecTV and if it's an all day event say silver day, sometimes they will just put something like silver day in 6 hr blocks and other time they will put the silver vender into blocks and HSN is the same way. I have the direcTV's DVR and just 2 or 3 days ago it upgraded. On FoxNews awhile back, they were talking about DirecTV and said that in order to updates and to get to watch DirecTv, you will need thier DVRs. The way I took it was once the change over takes place, that is when it will start. I'm not 100% sure on it, do to it's been awhile since I saw it. But I do recall them saying that Tivo will not work and that other companies will do the same, cuz it's more $$$$$ they make. I'm going to send them an e-mail and ask if they are going to have away at some point so that you can edit showe that you record and I'll ask them about in the future will you need thier DVRs to record or if you can use any make of DVRs and the use of tivo |
