Antoine Davis from Detroit Mercy is close to breaking the long-standing NCAA record as the all-time leading scorer which was set by Pete Maravich of LSU between 1967-1969, in only three seasons.

Tough one for Davis and Detroit Mercy tonight. He finished with 22 points in the loss. That left him 3 points from tying and 4 points from breaking Pistol Pete’s record. That is the end of the Titans’ season with an elimination loss in the Horizon League tournament. Davis had a great college career, and holds the NCAA record for made 3-pointers.

By the way, imagine what Maravich’s point total would have been if the 3-point line were in existence back then.

Fun Fact

Three of the four teams have never been in the Final Four before.
(Florida Atlantic, San Diego State, and Miami).
