For the first time, I am attempting a thread on NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball.
There are A LOT of conferences and schools in Division 1. 32 conferences send their champions to the NCAA tournament. It would be impossible for me to track the standings of 32 conferences over a 30-game season. So…. I have decided to focus on NINE of the most powerful conferences:
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE
ATLANTIC 10
ATLANTIC COAST CONFERENCE
BIG 12
BIG EAST
BIG TEN
PAC-12 CONFERENCE
SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE (SEC)
WEST COAST CONFERENCE
THE NEXT POST ON THIS THREAD WILL BE AP RANKINGS. I will start with preseason rankings and update them weekly.
THE FOLLOWING NINE POSTS ON THIS THREAD WILL BE STANDINGS of the teams in the aforementioned NINE conferences. They will likewise be updated on a weekly basis.
I wish I had the time, energy and patience to post the scores of all the games that the teams in these nine conferences play. But I don’t.
NO DISRESPECT is intended toward the many excellent teams in the other 23 conferences. I just don’t have the time to provide weekly updates to the standings of 32 conferences.
I hope that anyone will feel free to post replies on this thread to anything relevant to the upcoming basketball season.
Team records in each conference will reflect first the in-conference W/L record, and second the team’s overall record.
AP rankings will change over the season. A ranked team’s change in rankings will be reflected by a + or - sign within parentheses. A team in the top 25 that was not in the previous week’s top 25 will have the designation “NR” next to the team’s name and overall record.
Here’s hoping for a great, competitive season with arenas filled with fans.
