So Dave Roberts managed to go this long without getting in his own way. Dodgers swept both the Milwaukee Brewers and the San Diego Padres to reach the NLCS for the fourth time in the last five seasons, coming after choking away a 106-win season in 2019. As for the Atlanta Braves, they are also unbeaten in the postseason; sweeping both the Cincinnati Reds and the Miami Marlins. The Braves are in the NLCS for the first time since 2001, and are looking to win a pennant for the first time in this century (their last pennant came in 1999). This will be the Dodgers' dead end; as usual, Roberts will find a way to blow this, and sadly, Clayton Kershaw's shoddy October history will resurface; it still baffles me how a pitcher that great could just fizzle out every postseason. Braves will make all of Atlanta forget about the Falcons, and win the pennant. Prediction: Braves in six #1 |
