January 9, 1994. That was the last time that an NFL playoff game took place in Los Angeles--eight days before the Northridge quake. On that day, the Los Angeles Raiders defeated the Denver Broncos, 42-24, at the Coliseum. The second-largest city and market in the US went over two decades without a single NFL team, with the Raiders returning to Oakland and the Rams moving to St. Louis. It was in 2016 that the Rams returned to LA, going 4-12 in their first season back in the West Coast. After firing coach Jeff Fisher, the Rams started this season with a new coach, Sean McVay, and won the NFC West for the first time in well over a decade, officially clinching a home playoff game. Who are their opponents? The defending NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons. Now, we all know that the Falcons are attempting to make up for last year. They didn't do a good job of it this season; they had struggles, but they survived and clinched the NFC's last playoff spot on the final week. Unfortunately, if the Falcons are looking for redemption, they'll have to wait until next year, because they're not getting past LA.
Prediction: Rams by 17
