Ummm...not to be snarky but...what pennant race? NL Central is the only division race that's even really close (Chicago leads Milwaukee by 4, the Brew Crew can make that up within a week). Yankees need to sweep the Botox to even have a shot, otherwise it's hoping for the wild card. Minnesota fighting the Angels for the last WC berth. Other three division leaders are gone, daddy, gone. |

The Cubs are still a arm's length reach ahead of the Brew Crew, but don't count St. Louis just yet. The Cardinals are always hanging around by early September, seems to happen every year. |

True, both West Divisions and the NL East are dead. The AL East is still close, though, as are both Central Divisions. |

The White Sox have been out of contention basically since July, so time to focus again on the team 8.1 miles north in the 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs: National League Central Division, one of 2 races still up for grabs: Chicago Cubs 79-66 -- Milwaukee 77-69 St. Louis 77-69, both 2 1/2 games behind. N.L. Wild Card-- Arizona leads Colorado, but by only four games (84-62 are the D-Backs, the Rockies stand at 80-66). Milwaukee and St. Louis are each 3 games off the pace at 77-69. But the American League Wild Card has six teams within 5 games of the second position of the Minnesota Twins. |

Yankees need someone to beat Boston; we did our part--11-8 this season against the Red Sox. |

Yes; there was a lot of debate on ESPN this morning about that very point. Many of ESPN's established baseball analysts are giving the record to the Indians because of the tie issue. But as you say MLB has yet to endorse it. |

Royals 4, Indians 3 The Indians' 22-game winning streak is over. In fact, the Royals have now ended (technically) the two longest winning streaks in MLB history. Let that sink in. |
