Bottom line, no job is fine--even in front of the camera.

I highly recommend checking out the podcast "Broken News" on YouTube with Erin Kennedy and Megan Glaros. They were both laid off during the first stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, when CBS was slashing payroll and cut staff nationwide.

And it appears it is happening again.

800 people get laid off, yet it's one reporter's story that is the face of the entire thing.

Catherine Herridge is the face of the story for good reason.

Nearly to a person, reporters are interchangeable hacks who got into the industry not to report news that informs the public, but rather to advance their political agenda. They treat their viewers and readers with contempt and have earned the derisive mocking cast their way whenever a batch of them are laid off.

Herridge, to her detriment, pursues stories with the goal of informing her audience. For this violation CBS seized her files and computers, which included information on/from privileged sources. This is unheard of and will no doubt have a chilling effect on any other reporter with aspirations to chase stories her managers deem off-limits.

Catherine provides a value and will likely go the independent route and make a greater impact than she ever could as a corporate journalist. The other 799 will be serving frappuccinos.
