The weekly podcast hosted by Jon Lewis brought Hannah on to speak about her time spent at CNN back in the day, along with doing the first season covering the WNBA in 1997, and the four seasons she and Andrea Kremer did the NFL on Thursday nights with Amazon before Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit took over the package nationally.

It is quite an interview to check out.

Besides talking about her times spent as a rock radio DJ in Houston, this after graduating from Notre Dame. Working late nights at CNN when they were the chief competition to ESPN in the late 1980's, she loved talking about being around Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls when it was wall-to-wall weekends covering the NBA for NBC in the late 1990's. During this time, she also talked about being a part of the ill-fated Baseball Network when ABC and NBC split covering the big baseball games in 1995. She would later host the World Series during the Peacock's last big games in 1997 and again in 1999.

She also talked about her brief run with The Early Show on CBS (title lasted until 2012.) She also mentioned her goal of co-hosting ABC's annual coverage of the Tournament of Roses Parade--this after she had that nasty burn on December 11, 2012.

Fast forward to the present time, and Hannah mentioned late in the pod she will be hosting an NBA themed podcast that will start around the All-Star weekend in February.

She continues their family tree of covering pro hoops since her father Mike Storen was the commissioner of the old ABA. In addition, Mike was general manager of the Indiana Pacers, Kentucky Colonels and Memphis Sounds before they merged with the NBA. He also owned the Atlanta Hawks following the merger.

Her doing this pod makes perfect sense to me, similar to what Rachel Nichols did before the old Showtime channel decide to cut out their sports coverage for good after airing their final boxing match this past Saturday.

So there was an attempt at a Baseball Network before the MLB Network, interesting. Also, isn't Hannah on the Early Show for five years? I wouldn't call that brief.

The Baseball Network was a combined ill-fated attempt with ABC and NBC splitting coverage of select regular season during most of 1994 and the entire 1995 season.

It was both confusing and refreshing to hear both Hall of Famers in Al Michaels and Bob Costas doing every other game. Once the baseball folks realized that the product ultimately wasn't good for the bigger picture, Fox stepped in and has continued to do coverage since 1996, and the World Series since (except for 1997 and 1999).

The actual MLB cable network would come years later.

And I did not realize too her run at CBS was five years. Show us how time can fly so fast for us as viewers.
