Has it really been that long?

Today marks the 15th anniversary when Liz Claman did the channel's first huge interview with Berkshire Hathaway CEO and what she calls affectionately as "The Oracle of Omaha" in Warren Buffett.

We were so fortunate to watch, especially when Jenna Lee and Nicole Petallides were the first voices that greeted viewers early that first morning of October 15, 2007:

And none other than Nicole sent along this tweet marking the anniversary. Guess how Jenna responded:

Since then, Liz Claman continues her excellent show simply named as "The Claman Countdown" (but still check out her podcast "Everyone Talks To Liz" every Tuesday.)

Back in the day Rebecca (Gomez) Diamond took us through fun times on "Happy Hour", and by 2014 Maria Bartiromo would slide into the mornings. Other names we were fortunate to see are her frequent foil in Charlie Gasparino, Adam Shapiro, Ashley Webster (then a London correspondent), Sandra Smith, Melissa Francis, Lori Rothman, Lea Gabrille, Gerri Willis, Jo Ling Kent, Tracee Carrasco, and Nicole Petallides (thanks to doing a search on their YouTube channel to refresh my memory on a few of the names).

If you still watch FBN to this day, all I can say is wow.

Here is Liz Claman's tweet from Friday to commemorate this happy occasion:

Several key anchors--including her former longtime "After The Bell" co-host David Asman, Lauren Simonetti, Charles Payne, Elizabeth MacDonald, and Stuart Varney to name a few were on hand to ring the opening bell on the NASDAQ.
Also included are some great comments and a short video from Liz herself where she talks about how they managed to survive those initial years (Fox Translator anyone?) and yet are still around, while other cable channels (remember CNN+ and CnnSI?) simply crashed and burned:

What a run it has been. Looking forward, who knows.
At least, if anyone has questions about what anyone says on the air--they have a dedicated phone line and email so you can share your thoughts/frustrations:

As a bonus, Liz was featured in a YouTube short with David Meltzer earlier this summer. Enjoy:

There was Alexis Glick who was also an executive and Tracy Byrnes as well. Liz and I think Cheryl Casone are still there. Sandra Smith is still with Fox Corp co-hosting at Fox News.

Another name who was very popular was Shibani Joshi, who still continues to follow business news--but mostly on techonology and relevant business topics.

There are three sections to her website, which is very comprehensive and there is a link to subscribe if you want to receive instant emails each time she posts a new blog:

Other names from the early years were Deirdre Bolton now at ABC News, John Layfield who left to join the WWE, and two ladies who sadly left this world way too soon:
Brenda Buttner in February 2017 at age 55 after battling cancer, was with Fox starting in 2000.
Terry Keegan in October 2014 of a massive cerebral hemorrhage was only 53. She worked at CNN during most of the 1990's, even spent some in back of the camera before hosting Cashin' In from 2001-2009.

Weather channel hit 40 in May but don't recall much celebration. Unfortunately the 40th year of HLN did not go well and it ended. For now it will run CNN's morning program

Tom Sullivan kept the radio show but have not heard it in two years. But he left Fox Business and moved to the south. Lou Dobbs does a podcast. Jenna Lee quit news and runs some organization. She got moved to FNC near the end of her time. Nicole Petallides found better work at TD Ameritrade network online. Chris Barnes retired. Brian Sullivan moved to rival CNBC and has done many roles there. I forgot some names but remember the faces. Don Imus passed away a few years after leaving FBN and moving radio show to New Mexico. Sid and Bernie started a show together that began with Bernie solo while Imus was in New Mexico. Juliet Huddy, although not with FBN, had a brief stint at WABC and could not fit in with any show or format. Besides going far left, she was part of the Sid and Bernie show and was removed. Alexis Glick found work outside TV and is in stock trading. Lea Gabrielle quit the news and business work. She had returned to D.C. but her job ended in 2020. She filled in and replaced Nicole Petallides until she quit the network. The AM show eventually ended and now there is no show at 6am E. Maria starts at 7am. Rebecca Gomez Diamond quit and did not renew her contract around 2010. Resurfaced about 6-7 years later to accuse the network, FBN and FNC, of harrassment and won some money. Tracy Byrnes left TV but what she is doing is unknown. This one lady ran off to NBC and CNBC doing reports. She had replaced Shobani Joshi. Well this chick was replaced herself. It maybe time to search or wikipedia information and figure out names I forgot.
Honestly, haven't watched FBN in four years when FBN A.M. ended, later the pandemic began and Mornings With Maria changed sets.

The woman who left to NBC is Jo Lin Kent.
