I figure to talk about who you guys want to see from a local and/or regional network to make it to a national network.

I'll also add some more Tampa women (and some who were in Tampa). McKenna King and Elizabeth Fry (currently). Also, Annie Sabo who now at Bally Sports North in Minnesota and Victoria Price whose currently not working though unsure if that would happen because she's dating Ryan Smith who works at ABC Action News. I'll add Kelsey Wingert and Nicole Lauren.

Crystal for a time was at the Weather Channel, if I remember correctly.

As far as weather people go Brittany Bryant from WMC Memphis and Chelsea Chandler fr ABC24 in Memphis.

Kelsie Cairns from ABC24 in Memphis

I don't have my finger on the pulse when it comes to local or regional newswomen, but the only one I'm familiar with that's outside of my area is Caitlin Lockerbie and that's because she was in Memphis. Her and Chelsea Chandler in the morning were a great 1-2 punch. Kelsie Cairns was not a bad replacement for Lockerbie.

Actually, Courtney Friel (Fox News) and Crystal Egger (TWC) were on national networks. I think Crystal still would have still been on The Weather Channel if she didn't move back home though TWC had her as a West Coast Correspondent while she was working in LA.

For Lynchburg, I'd have to say ABC13's Emily Swecker. She's got a look that just screams, Fox and Friends. Typical blonde commentator. But she could also fit in as a feature reporter for one of the national early morning news programs. Speaking of ABC13, we've already had Mona Kosar-Abdi make the transition from local reporter/weekend anchor to ABC's World News Now. ABC13 is more of a "training station". Most reporters come and go within a few years.

For Roanoke, there aren't many that I could see make the jump. John Carlin, who has been WSLS's evening anchor for decades could have made the jump to being a national reporter or fill in anchor for NBC any time he wanted to. But he's had ties to local universities teaching journalism. WDBJ's Robin Reed has been around since the early 80's. I could have seen him as a "Willard Scott" type of weatherman. Likeable and funny, but also very knowledgeable. He did after all mentor Philly's Cecily Tynan.

Good one, I’ve never heard of her but I just googled a pic and she looks like a young Ainsley

Meghan Kluth. She could be a perfect fit for E! Entertainment in the near future.

People come and go from local Kansas City news faster than a lightning strike. Three women were in town that made national TV. Harris Faulkner ( 1992 to 2000 at WDAF), Charly Arnolt Caruso (2009 to 2013 or so at WDAF) and Kacie McDonnell (2013 to 2016 at KSHB).

I lose names of women as they flee quickly. Like Jade DeGoode had a child and quit tv. Or Crystal Lampitt was fired and Belinda Post lost her show to add another hour of news. All the good ones quit, change jobs, leave or go national or move to another market and even get fired or not renewed.

We just had Amy Anderson jump from TV to radio after 14 years doing weekend news. And Ellen McNamara was not renewed. Women are dime a dozen. Often when one good looking woman leaves another is eventually found to replace. So while some cute ones may remain I am not interested.

But if I have to pick one it would be Lindsay Shively at KSHB mornings. However her winning that slot in 2012 caused two beautiful ladies to quit as they wanted the slot. For now we also have Gina Bullard but she might depart in the future. I wasn't a fan but since others left she grew on me. Also got Abby Eden but after 13 years is not as good looking and she finally married. Once was profiled in a magazine as single.

Or work PR somewhere else. I believe there's four ladies who were TV anchor/reporters who are now working at Police Departments/Sheriff's Office as Public Information Officer. There's one name Ashley Glass who left ABC Action News became a PIO for a local Sheriff's Office and then moved to West Palm Beach to a station she worked prior. Gayle Guyardo retired twice, once to come back to News Channel 8 and recently came back to be the host of Bloom. The TV news business is a rough one.

Emily is already on the way up. Sunday will be her final night as the weekend anchor here in Lynchburg. She'll soon be at CBS 19 in Charlottesville.
