I don't have my finger on the pulse when it comes to local or regional newswomen, but the only one I'm familiar with that's outside of my area is Caitlin Lockerbie and that's because she was in Memphis. Her and Chelsea Chandler in the morning were a great 1-2 punch. Kelsie Cairns was not a bad replacement for Lockerbie.

Now, Kelsie is in the same place as Caitlin kind of. It's in the same market but it's in Sarasota, an hour south of Tampa. Also, I called it with Annie Sabo as she joined the Big Ten Network.

I've already had World News Now hostess Mona Kosar-Abdi spend 3 years near me in "The Burg". ABC13 in Lynchburg, Virginia.

But the question is, can anyone else from my area go. My main problem is that unless you're an anchor, your career doesn't last very long around here. I could see Danner Evans from ABC13 on a national stage. Problem is, she's got 3 kids, and she's already moved to Myrtle Beach and back once. I could see former WSLS and Fox 21/27 anchor Jennifer Waddell go national, but she too has 2 kids. She's already been to Arizona, and now to Nashville.

He's more famous as a Cincinnati Red (he was on that 1990 team that won the World Series). The Reds Spring Training home from 1988-1997 was Plant City which is East of Tampa.

Excellent choice, as I mentioned in a prior post going a similar route that Ginger Zee took a few years before Cheryl joined NBC5 in Chicago, then later jumped to ABC7.

Lissette Gonzalez has been killing it on CBS Miami for 15 years, since 2007. She had a few appearances on CBS This Morning some years ago, but I think that should be permanent. She deserves it. Perhaps though, she's too attached to Miami to go for it.
