This weekend marks the second time that meteorologist Tammie Souza will be leaving Chicago in less than a decade.

Albeit not as eye-popping as her first time leaving for Tampa in September 2008 (remember the pink shorts she wore on air?), what an impact she left while working in the Midwest.

Including her time spent across town at NBC5 for two years prior to arriving at Fox32 the first time around, Tammie is as personable and honest as you can find in the weather business.

I am not just saying it to be cute, but everything she blogs about and posts on both her Facebook and Twitter simply comes off as genuine and truthful. Add to that winning the 2016 Midwest Emmy Award for Best Weathercaster and we can see why that NBC 10 in Philadelphia may be an even better opportunity.

She is scheduled to do the 5 p.m. weekday newscasts. I sure hope people who have the capability to pull in that station can begin capping her when she lands out East.

And who knows, maybe just maybe...
could a pinch-hitting role on Weekend Today be in the offing the longer Dylan Dreyer continues to do her maternity leave?

At least, she will be returning to the Midwest a few times since she still has some symposiums to run and it will give her a chance to sometimes catch up on her many friendships she gained while living in Illinois.

Let us wish Tammie and her family a safe move and hopefully a smooth enough transition. As for me, good thing we can stream the news live on NBC10's website.

As for the weekends in Chicago, for the first time in over a decade--they will never be the same.
