As reported on GMA prior to the final episode of Dancing With The Stars, Ginger spent most of her teenage years not eating and she finally opened up to tell the public about the struggle which nearly cost her life as a young girl:

At the very least, even with her third place finish on Tuesday night's Season 22 finale--hopefully, she will get others to share their stories about this very difficult problem some people cannot seem to shake off.

Glad to hear she got over it at an early age....lots of women who develop eating disorders have problems with it for decades.

Kudos to her for sharing the struggles- mental and physical- of this terrible disease.

Hopefully her story will increase awareness and help turn some lives around.

This is a VERY tough disease to overcome.
