Maria Menounos is leaving "Extra" after 2 1/2 years. Articles reporting on it offer different versions of why this is happening; either Maria herself has chosen to move on, including focus on her new reality series, or "Extra" has decided not to renew her contract. Also there are hints of friction with co-host Mario Lopez. So Maria has done ET, Access, and is leaving Extra...I don't see her going to Inside Edition (which is the only remaining "general" syndicated magazine show since A Current Affair and Hard Copy (remember them???) left the air years ago) next. As for her reality show? I watched one episode and it was a bore. She should be better off with her own show on either The CW or MTV. |

doesn't make sense she'd leave to "focus on a reality show" that may or not be around in 6 weeks. plus the only reason she HAS a reality show is that she's the host of Extra. I'm guessing the ratings were low & she got canned. either way, she's still ridiculously hot, and I'm sure someone will want her to host something else. |

Her reality show is really lame. It's also too much information on her. Her parents, relatives, a brother and her boyfriend are on it. I feel it is one way to see how her life is and to me it is anything but glamorous and sexy. She squabbles with the dude all the time. The mother does not look decent like her daughter. She let herself go. It really was nothing like I expected. It doesn't explain much about her career. Maria is basically doing a show about her and her boyfriend like the Guliana and Bill show. |

Maria Menounos is leaving syndicated entertainment newsmagazine Extra and has inked a new deal with E! Under her deal with E!, Menounos will host her own one-hour entertainment newsman series, Untold with Maria Menounos. She also will be featured on the roundtable series Live From E! and upcoming E! specials. Additionally, E! has signed a first-look deal with Menounos’ production company, Underman/Omegagirl Prods. Hosted on location by Menounos, Untold with Maria Menounos will cover such topics as Gen Y royals, the rise of heroin in Hollywood, the popularity of electronic dance music (EDM) and the rise of reality stars. I love how everybody -- including Maria herself, and even Mario Lopez spent most of the last couple months acting like it was some bogus story.  It all really came down to a combination of things... She wanted out, "Extra" basically did everything but say "hey,don't let the door hit ya on the way..." and now everyone's getting what they wanted. Look, I like Maria for all of the obvious reasons, but if or when this "E" thing runs its course, about the only showbiz-themed place left that she hasn't dropped anchor at would be TV Guide Channel. She's pretty much run the table by now  (cappers, photo posters -- heads up, Maria's preening at the Grove in L.A. is just about over...her last episode of "Extra" I believe is sometime in June or July) . |

But have y'all been checking out who I think is the next Menounos, Nicole Dabeau? She hosts the syndicated E/I show "Awesome Adventures" (which is seen Saturday mornings on Channel 5 here in Atlanta) and once did some freelance work for ET. But unlike Maria, I don't think she has a steady boyfriend. |
