Lea Gabrielle is joining Fox News as a general assignment reporter for “Shepard Smith Reporting,” TVNewser has learned. Gabrielle will make her Fox News debut December 16.

I do wonder though why Fox forced her to "dumb down" her name like that.
She's formally Lea Gabrielle Potts-Sutton.
Potts by birth, Sutton possibly a current or former married name - but neither name
is really unpronounceable or what you'd call "TV unfriendly".

If Fox didn't insist on it, then she might have chosen to chop off the surnames, but it
comes off as something a younger model or actress would do -- not a serious journalist with a military background.

Well DUH, she was a 12 year vet in the Navy. Anybody know her rank when she left? I think the biggest surprise was they hired her with only three years experience in the TV news biz. There's probably those who spent their entire careers for a shot at national news network.

Precisely what I was getting at... It's very rare hiring for someone over 35, especially
where Fox is concerned.

And I still don't get the "dumbing-down" of her name like that.
She's an accomplished, professional former military personnel...not a preteen popstar.

She was already known by her real name in San Diego - a major market station.
Altering her ID at this point in her career and life... It's just strange.

Was it her decision? Prime example, anyone remember Linda Stouffer formerly off HLN? She had five years before getting the National spot but she change her name from Cinnamon to Linda. Allegedly to please her CNN bosses because I heard on another board I don't think it was this one that she wanted to be called Cinnamon. Honestly if they hired her, they should have realize that. Anyway we don't know if it was Lea's choice, Fox choice, or maybe she had a divorce. Anyone know?

I know a guy who served with her. She wasn't known for her smooth landings on carrier decks, but I couldn't even do a smooth landing on a paved runway so she'd fly circles around me.
HOWEVER --- you're right in that she's a total MILF babe.
More of her would be a good thing.
