From FTVLive:

When Jeff Zucker became the President of CNN, he said that he would work out of New York instead of Atlanta, where CNN was based.

Now word is that Zucker is telling talent it's time to come join him in New York.

As Zucker looks to blow up CNN prime time and HLN altogether, he is moving talent and management to New York.

To get around some of the unions, shows will still be produced out of Atlanta, but they will air from NYC.

Word is that Zucker has told HLN star Robin Meade that he wants her to move to New York as well. A move that sources say Meade does not want to make.

Wow, two former longtime WMAQ Chicago weekend news anchors (one definite and one possibly) moving on.

First, it was Zoraida Sambolin--largely because she is going to get married to Chicago White Sox Vice President In Waiting Kenny Williams.

At the very least, Robin Meade has her new website to bank on and her fledgling singing career.

Let's see what happens next, but I am guessing CNN is going to go the same way as TWC--a once great cable channel no more.

Can he get anyone from Atlanta (female wise) to New York? I doubt Christi Paul would move because she has three young daughters and Kyra Phillips with two young kids and her hubby John Roberts whose stationed in ATL for Fox News. Robin because her hubby has a business in ATL and Atlanta is closer to Nashville and I'm sure Robin would rather recording albums in Nashville than New York. Also remember in a podcast she did a while back that wouldn't want to leave Atlanta. Does anyone knows how many Albums Robin Meade's CD sold? Maybes included Natasha Curry especially if Robin leaves HLN or just doesn't go to NYC though she got a kid or two. Susan Hendricks has a kid though she is from New Jersey. Brooke Baldwin doesn't have kids (yet). Would Lynn Berry go back to NY?

Brooke was born and raised in the Atlanta area so I doubt she wants to leave

Just my opinion, but if Jeff Zucker wants to "blow up" CNN and HLN, I think many of the on-air personalities who have been there for some time will not want to make the move to NYC! These might include Robin Meade, Carol Costello Jen Westhoven and even Bob Van Dillon. It would seem to me that it would be the younger talking heads who would consider the move. These could be Susan Hendricks, Lynn Berry, Poppy Harlow, Pam Brown and some others. I think he's making changes just for changes sake! Will it improve the CNN/HLN numbers?? Doubt it!!
Sorry for the semi-rant. :( :?

Aside from that's where their two competitors are based, I'm still trying to figure out why it would be such a big deal to be in NYC. They've been in Atlanta for decades and have done fine.

Pam and Poppy are already in New York though Poppy pops in Atlanta (OK some pun intended) for the weekend morning show time to time.

Not a mind reader but she didn't look very happy to be in NYC today.

Noticed that too in just the few minutes I caught. I could read some kind of disgust on her face.

I don't know what Zucker's game is, but if he's practically making relocation to NY mandatory in order
to piss off some of the talent enough to force them to quit, the guy's more of a slime than I gave him
credit for. :?

The whole thing is ludicrous... Instead of doubling down and trying to make CNN better at what it's known
for, he's talking about loading it up with more reality crap, less time on news, and what he calls "attitude" -
whatever the :censor that's supposed to be.

Amazing that this guy who had more bungles and fails than successes on NBC would even be allowed to
have this kind of control over any other network ever again. I wouldn't trust him to properly program a
closed circuit high school station.

I agree with you 100% pacific. It's all about money which is all about ratings and hard news doesn't get ratings. I wish Turner Broadcasting was willing to accept that CNN as a hard news channel will never top the ratings or even make a profit and instead return it to the "gold standard" of news that it was for the first years after it debuted. CNN was and still is what I immediately turn to when there is big news but now it's more likely to be their website than the cable channel.

The reason for CNN being in Atlanta is that was where Ted Turner lived, and I think he even said once that being in Atlanta was more in tune with the general public. They didn't start to put studios and shows in New York until Time Warner bought Ted out.

Never had any use for CNN for unforgivable reasons that go all the way back to 1990.
That said, their only "real talent" has been Robin Meade. Maybe a few others -- but mostly Robin. Everyone else has been flashes in the pan compared to her.
She'd do much better for herself if she cut the CNN/HLN anchor loose.
Unfortunately, everything is in New York City. Sucks, but that's the way it is.
I'm sure she's got enough money to like comfortably in a string bikini on a beach in the Tampa Bay area.
Robin, if you're listening -- I have a beach towel for you.

I think Jeff Zucker is making a huge mistake doing this. He's going to cost thousands of hard working people their jobs. Mostly in the Atlanta offices though won't be surprise a number of NYC people go bye-bye when a number of Atlanta people go their. Plus depending who goes there's a good chance he'll lose a good number of viewers especially if Robin leaves.
